MCAC is working with Carnegie Mellon's Institute of Arts Management and Technology to build a new website!
Coming in April, 2008
MCAC is one of 5 arts organizations chosen from across the country to participate in the Beta stage of ArtsnetCMS. ArtsnetCMS provides free Content Management Systems (CMS), like DotNetNuke, for arts organizations, a service developed by the Center for Arts Management and Technology (CAMT) at Carnegie Mellon University.
CAMT's goal is to create a model for arts organizations allowing staff with little or no programming skills to develop and maintain websites with forums, blogs, profiles and more. The new website will give MCAC the capability to build community online, to have an interactive GIS map of arts groups, and to move resources such as the Artist Registry and the Resource Library online for more accessiblity.
Look for the new website at monmoutharts.org, coming mid April. There will be forums, a blog and some other great features. Our new magazine, X•it Magazine, will launch around the same time and can be found at an arts venue near you. Features in X•it include X•it Art which explores where you could wind up if you took any Monmouth County ramp off the GSP. In Strange Places celebrates the unconventional and looks to linkages that might not be obvious. Legends and Legacies honors the creative continuum and the perspectives of different generations of artists. Check It Out connects a vast network of arts organizations and events across the county.
