CURRENT MCAC GRANTEES
For fiscal year 2008, the MCAC awarded grants totaling $141,250 to 30 Monmouth County organizations, through the NJ State Council on the Arts/Department of State Local Arts Program.

MCAC was awarded $209,318 for the Local Arts Program with $138,250 to be regranted, $3,000 for minigrants and $68,068 for MCAC’s arts programs and services.
Thirty groups requested grants of $444,979. A panel of independent arts experts reviewed the grant applications and made recommendations, which were approved by the MCAC Board of Trustees.
Grant panelists looked for high artistic quality; sound governance, management and operations; financial soundness with evidence of broad support; broad public benefit; accessibility and community interest; and commitment to arts education and promoting understanding and public awareness of the arts.
The funded arts organizations and art programs provide arts education for students, high quality arts events for the public and accessible programs for senior citizens. They contribute to the economic vitality and the quality of life in Monmouth County. Many of these programs are low cost or free to the public. These awards will result in a wide range of music, theatrical, dance, creative writing, film and visual arts events for Monmouth County residents including students, families and seniors throughout 2007.
MCAC grant categories include:
General Operating Support (GOS) for arts organizations,
General Program Support (GPS) for other types of non-profit organizations that have significant arts programs,
Special Project Support (SP) for all types of non-profit organizations, and
Technical Assistance (TA).
